These follicles excrete oil, sweat and are can trap dirt and bacteria.When clogged they can turn into zits, whiteheads, or blackheads. Regular exfoliation helps keep these follicles clear and keeps your face looking fresh. The same concept applies to ingrown hairs. Shaving too close to clogged follicles can cause folliculitis // a condition where the hair gets trapped under the skin and infected.
